Grilled Swiss Sandwiches

Ingredients

1/2 pound ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup thousand island salad dressing
6 slices whole wheat or rye bread
6 tablespoons drained sauerkraut
3 slices Swiss cheese
butter or margarine

Directions:

In a frying pan, brown ground beef and onion until meat is no longer pink. Drain if necessary. Stir in dressing. Spoon meat mixture evenly over half the bread slices. Top each with 2 tablespoons sauerkraut, a slice of cheese, and remaining slices of bread. Grill sandwiches using a small amount of butter until lightly toasted and cheese melts.
