Herbed Tomato Sauce

Serves: 6

1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 (28-ounce) can Italian style tomato
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon marjoram leaves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper


Sauté onion in olive oil for 3 to 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in tomatoes and break up with spoon. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for about 30 minutes or until slightly thickened. Cool ladle into freezer containers. Label and freeze.
