Tried & True Apple Casserole

8 to 10 tart apples, cored, peeled and halved
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter


Place apples in a buttered 2-quart casserole dish; set aside. Mix dry ingredients together; sprinkle over apples. Dot with butter. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to one hour.
