Mixed-Up Pasta Salad

1 (12-ounce) package tri-color mixed pasta shapes, uncooked
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can green beans, drained
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can wax beans, drained
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup sweet onion, chopped
1/2 cup olive oil
3/4 cup cider vinegar
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
salt and pepper to taste


Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and rinse with cold water. Meanwhile, combine beans and onion in a large bowl; set aside. In a separate bowl, combine oil and vinegar; slowly add sugar and stir until dissolved. Add pasta, tomatoes and oil mixture to bean mixture. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss gently; serve immediately or refrigerate until serving time.
