Snack Attack Granola Bars

Serves: 32

Ingredients

Directions:

"Treat your friends to homemade granola bars. They taste better than the store-bought ones."

1. Lightly coat the inside of an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan with softened butter or margarine.

2. In a medium microwavable bowl, mix with a spoon, 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter, and 1/3 cup honey.

3. Microwave, uncovered, at 100% power (700 watts) for 1 minute. Remove from microwave oven.

4. Add 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk powder and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Stir until well blended.

5. Stir in 1 1/2 cups granola cereal.

Stir until the peanut butter mixture covers all the cereal. Spoon mixture into baking pan. Use the back of a spoon to press mixture firmly into an even layer.

6. Wait for 45 minutes or until firm enough to cut. Cut into bars 2 inches by 1 inch. Store in a container with a tight lid so bars will stay chewy.
