Pilaf With Peas

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 cup egg noodle coarsely broken
1 3/4 cups water hot tap
1 1/2 cups white rice uncooked quick-cooking
1/2 cup onion finely chopped
3 teaspoons chicken bouillon
1 cup peas thawed
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

* Cooking Time: 12 to 14 minutes Power: 100% (700 watts) 50% (350 watts) Place butter in a 1 1/2 -quart microwavable casserole dish. Microwave, uncovered, at 100% power (700 watts) for 45 to 60 seconds or until melted.

Stir in noodles until coated. Cover with a glass lid or plastic wrap, turning one edge back. Microwave at 100% power for 2 to 3 minutes or until lightly browned stirring after 1 minute.

Add water, rice, onion and bouillon granules. Re-cover and vent. Microwave at 100% power for 3 minutes or until boiling.

Reduce power and microwave at 50% power (350 watts) for 3 minutes. Stir. Add peas and pepper. Re-cover and vent. Microwave at 50% power for 3 to 4 minutes or until liquid is absorbed and peas are heated through.
