Orange Crisps

1 egg
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup flour
orange rind Grated
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup raisins or almond halves


Beat egg, sugar and vanilla until thick and lemony yellow. Fold in flour, grated orange rind and the softened butter or margarine. Drop by teaspoonfuls in mounds onto greased cookie sheet. Pat smooth with the back of a teaspoon dipped in cool water. Drop 3 raisins in center of each round or slightly press in half an almond. Bake in 375° oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the cookies are a delicate golden brown around the edges.
