Many recipes call for measured amounts of meats, cheeses, or seafood. Here are some equivalents to help you shop:
Beef, roasted 1 lb. = 4 cups, cubed
Cheese, blue 4 oz. = 1 cup, crumbled
Cheese, Cheddar or Swiss 1 lb. = 4 cups, shredded
Chicken, broiler-fryer 3 lb. = 3 cups, cooked, cubed
Chicken, med. whole breast 1 1/4 lb. = 1 1/2 cups, cooked, cubed
Fish 1 lb. = 1 3/4 cups, cooked, flaked
Ham, fully cooked 1 lb. = 3 cups, cubed
Tuna or crab, canned 6 1/2 oz. = 3/4 cup, flaked
Salmon, skinless, boneless, canned 6 1/2 oz. = 3/4 cup, flaked
