Breakfast Bonanza Cookies

Ingredients

2/3 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup unbleached flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups oats old-fashioned
1 cup Swiss cheese sharp (4 ounces) shredded
9 bacon crisply cooked, drained and crumbled
1/4 cup wheat germ toasted

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°. Beat together butter or margarine, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla. Add combined flours, baking soda, and salt to butter or margarine mixture mix well. Stir in oats, cheese, bacon, and wheat germ. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Let sit on cookie sheet for 5 minutes before removing to cooling rack. May be eaten cold or warm in microwave oven.
