Mrs. Lyndon Johnson’s Sand Tarts

1/2 pound butter, softened
4 tablespoons powdered sugar
2 tablespoons water
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup pecans, chopped
2 teaspoons vanilla extract


Blend butter and sugar; add other ingredients. Roll with the hand to finger size and turn into half moons. Bake about 25 minutes in 350° oven. Roll in powdered sugar.
