Cleaning Your Juicer with Ease!

A couple summers ago, my husband and I went on a cleansing juice diet after watching an interesting documentary on Netflix called Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.

In this documentary, Joe Cross, an over-weight, unhealthy and unhappy man, decides to turn to fruits and vegetables after a life of suffering from an autoimmune disease. He participates in a 60 day juice fast excluding all of his medications, despite the warning of doctors. While on his journey to a healthier life, Joe encounters Phil, a morbidly obese truck driver. Together, these two men succeed in their goal and the changes are astounding. Not only did they loose weight, but their bodies were able to fight off any ales they previously had. Most of all, they gained a love and appreciation for nature's medicine and vowed never go back to a lifestyle of junk food…

After watching this documentary, my husband and I felt inspired to commit to a juice fast for a month. We were experiencing some health problems during the time and decided to jump on board and give it a try.

Solely drinking juice three times a day was very challenging… and unfortunately we only lasted about a week. On a positive note, I was able to rid all the toxins in my body and no longer had a desire for fatty, sugary foods, but my main frustration I encountered was cleaning the Juicer. Cleaning it several times a day became annoying and tiring!

As we are focused on health again this month at DVO, I have thought back on my juicing experience and wondered if I could have made some changes that would have simplified the process.

Thank goodness for kitchen savvy people like Elizabeth Rider- she has some genius ideas to help clean your Juicer and save you time! Take a look!

Enjoy these tips and enjoy Juicer again! I know I will.
