Basil Cheese Ball

Ingredients

8 ounces Monterey Jack cheese finely shredded (about 2 cups)
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese softened
2 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons basil dried leaves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup parsley finely chopped fresh
1/4 cup pecans chopped or pine nuts
wheat cracker or unsalted crackers

Directions:

In a small mixer bowl at medium speed, beat cheeses, milk, basil, salt, and garlic powder until well blended. With moistened hands, shape cheese mixture into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill 1 hour. (If making ahead, remove from refrigerator about 1/2 hour before serving.)

Just before serving, unwrap cheese ball. Stir together parsley and nuts in a shallow dish. Roll cheese ball in mixture place on a serving plate. Serve with a knife and crackers.
