Ingredients

3/4 cup sifted flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup walnuts
1 package miniature marshmallow

Frosting:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup water
2 squares baking chocolate
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa, and sugar. Blend in shortening, eggs, and vanilla. Add walnuts. Spread in greased baking pan and bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Take from oven; sprinkle miniature marshmallows over the top, keeping away from sides. Put back into oven for 3 minutes.

For Frosting:
Combine brown sugar, water, and chocolate. Boil for 3 minutes; take from burner and add butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar (enough to make smooth icing). Spread over marshmallows and let cool. Cut in squares.
