For many years, when someone signed up for a Cook’n Membership Plan, they were presented with a simple comparison chart showing the three plans, the pricing, and the features.

Someone recently looked at our chart and said:

“This looks like it came straight out of the 90’s.”

My response was:

“Hey...thank you! We knew how to make good stuff in the 90’s.” 😁

Still, the comment made us realize a couple things. The chart did look a little dated and a bit janky on mobile. It was probably time for a refresh.

More importantly, while the chart worked fine, the upgrade process behind the scenes was not nearly as smooth as it should have been.

For example, if a user wanted to upgrade their plan, they had to:

1. Log into their account
2. Click the green Change button next to their current plan
3. Select the new plan
4. Scroll down
5. Click another Change button to check out

And here was the biggest problem.

If you already had a paid membership, your upgrade price was pro-rated, but our old checkout system never showed the discounted price before you paid.

So if you upgraded from Standard to Premium, you might think:

“Uh oh... am I about to be charged $149.95?”

Then later you would discover the charge was only $12.48.

Which is great... but it would have been nice to know that beforehand!

So we decided it was time to fix this.

We Rebuilt the Entire Checkout System From Scratch

For the past two months, Cook’n Elf Tyler has been hard at work rewriting the entire membership signup and upgrade system.

And the result looks fantastic.

The new system includes:

• Clean card-style membership plans
• An Annual / Monthly toggle
• Collapsible feature sections with Show/Hide so you can quickly see details
• A modern mobile-friendly layout
• And best of all...

Your Exact Upgrade Price Appears Instantly

If you are already a member, the system now automatically:

• Applies all discounts
• Calculates the pro-rated upgrade
• Shows your exact upgrade price

In many cases you will see things like:

Upgrade to Premium for $12.48
Upgrade to Standard Family for $10.10
Upgrade to Premium Family for $22.57

In other words, the new system finally shows the real price you will actually pay.

Honestly, it is a crying shame we didn't build this years ago because many upgrades are far cheaper than people expect.

The Cook’n Family Plan Is Also Available Right Now

While we were upgrading the system, we also made the Cook’n Family Plans available again.

For a limited time you can upgrade and get 4 additional memberships for family or friends.

That means 5 total members using Cook’n together.

Family Plans will be available between now and Easter Sunday (April 5).
