Smart Granola

Ingredients

8 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup dry milk powder
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup raw wheat germ
1 cup sliced raw almonds (or other nuts)
1 cup raw sunflower seed
1 cup sesame seeds
1 cup unsweetened coconut
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups water
1 cup healthy oil (almond, sesame, coconut, etc)
1 1/2 cups honey
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups nut butter
3 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
4 cups raisins (or other dried fruit)

Directions:

Mix the dry ingredients in a large roasting pan. Heat water, oil, honey, brown sugar, and nut butter over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well, until everything is well coated.

Bake at 210°F for 4 hours or until it has turned golden brown, stirring every half hour to ensure even baking. Add the dried fruit and mix well. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Store in your refridgerator or freezer for longer.
