Rustic Apple Pie

Ingredients

1 medium apple peeled and cored (Granny Smith is recommended)
1 medium Golden Delicious apple peeled and cored
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 9 inch refrigerated pie crust
1 large egg mixed with 1 tablespoon water

Directions:

Turn toaster oven to bake at 350 degrees.

Slice apples into 1?4-inch slices and toss with lemon juice. Mix together cornstarch, sugar, spices, and salt and stir into apple slices. Place piecrust on an 8 x 11-inch baking sheet prepared with nonstick cooking spray. Mound apple mixture in center on piecrust, leaving about 3 inches around the edge. Fold up edges toward center over apple mixture, crimping together as you go. Brush piecrust edge with egg wash. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown. Makes 4–6 servings.
