Praline Cake

1 (18 1/4-ounce) box yellow cake mix, prepared according to directions

Praline Topping:
1 (1-pound) package light brown sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans


Pour cake batter into 2 greased and floured 9x13x2-inch pans. Bake at 350° for about 20 minutes, or until cake leaves sides of pan. Remove from oven, and cool.

For Praline Topping:
In skillet, mix light brown sugar, flour, and eggs in melted butter, and cook for 3 minutes over low heat. Remove from heat, and stir in vanilla and pecans. Spread evenly over surface of cooled cakes. Bake 8 minutes at 400° to set the topping. Cool, and cut into 1 1/2-inch strips.
