Fun Fact: Built in 1914, Wrigley Field is the oldest National League ballpark and the second oldest active major league ballpark (after Fenway Park which opened on April 20, 1912). Located in Chicago, Illinois, Wrigley is home to the Chicago Cubs. In 1926, the ballpark was renamed from Cubs Park to Wrigley Field in honor of its new owner, William Wrigley, Jr. (of chewing gum fame). Many firsts were started at Wrigley Field, including permanent concession stands and permission for fans to keep foul balls that are hit into the stands. The scoreboard was constructed in 1937 and is still manually operated. After more than 5,000 afternoon games, lights were added, and in August 1988, the first night game was held at the ballpark.
