Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
In large skillet saute the mushrooms in 1 tablespoon butter until tender, about 5 minutes. Add the cream of mushroom soup and mix well; turn off heat and add tuna, peas, 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese and 3/4 of the onion rings and cooked noodles. Mix well.
Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan. Spread mixture in pan. Top with remaining 1/2 cup cheese and remaining onion rings.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Let stand about 10 minutes.
