This is the best Hot Honey Lemonade recipe on the web!!
Flannel jammies, a stack of magazines, and a big mug of steaming-hot honey lemonade is our answer to winter’s annual siege of colds and flu. This comforting, delicious brew, from Stephanie Rosenbaum’s HONEY: FROM FLOWER TO TABLE, is full of cold-busting vitamin C, with plenty of honey to soothe a sore throat. If you live in an area where Meyer lemons thrive, use them to make an extra-sweet and fragrant drink.
_ lemons
_ or 4 whole cloves
_ tablespoons honey, or to taste
_ cup boiling water
_ stick cinnamon
1. Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon into a large mug. Slice the second lemon very thinly. Poke the cloves into a lemon slice, and drop the slices into the mug. Add the honey. Fill the cup with the hot water and stir with the cinnamon stick until the honey has dissolved. Taste for sweetness and add more honey as you like.
NOTE: In a pinch, you can make this drink with bottled lemon juice. Use 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and increase the honey to 2 1/2 tablespoons, as bottled juice
is more bitter than fresh.
