Hoisin Pesto Shrimp

oil for coating the grill rack
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon Basil Pesto, homemade or jarred
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic, fresh or jarred organic
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
1 pound extra-large shrimp (21-25 or larger), peeled and cleaned, thawed if frozen
no-stick spray oil


Set up a grill for direct cooking, oil the grill rack, and heat to high.

Mix the hoisin, pesto, garlic, soy sauce, and vinegar in a bowl. Toss with the shrimp until thoroughly coated. Set aside for 10 minutes, and grill until browned and firm, about 2 minutes per side. Serve immediately.
