Cover brisket with liquid smoke. Refrigerate overnight, covered with foil. Next day, mix remaining ingredients and sprinkle all over brisket. Cover tightly with foil and bake 2 hours at 300°. Loosen foil, and bake 5 more hours at 200°. Remove meat to platter. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour. Remove grease from drippings. Slice brisket thinly across grain. Serve with hot drippings or barbecue sauce.
