1 cup vanilla wafers crushed (about 22)
3/4 cup nuts finely chopped
3/4 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
2 tablespoons rum or water
2 tablespoons corn syrup

In a medium bowl, mix vanilla wafer crumbs, 3/4 cup nuts, 3/4 cup powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Stir in rum and corn syrup until well mixed. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls, moistening fingers if mixture is too dry. Roll balls in nuts, powdered sugar, colored sugar or sprinkles.
Store in an airtight container overnight before serving. Serve within one week.
