Lemon Nut Drops

Ingredients

1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar packed
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon peels grated (optional)
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ginger ground (optional)
About 36 pecan halves (about 3/4 cup)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375°. Cream margarine and sugars. Beat in egg, lemon rind, and lemon juice. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt, and ginger, then stir into creamed mixture. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2" apart onto greased cookie sheets. Press a pecan half onto each cookie. Bake 12 minutes or until lightly browned around edges. Makes about 3 dozen.
