How To Make An Ice Cream Soda

Ingredients

Directions:

* For each soda, fill a tall 8- to 10-ounce glass about one-third full with chilled club soda. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons ice cream syrup or topping, fruit topping, or sweetened crushed fresh fruit. Mix well with a long handled spoon. Add one scoop slightly softened vanilla ice cream and mix until smooth. Add a second scoop of ice cream and stir if desired. Slowly pour additional soda down the inside of the glass. Garnish with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. Serve with straws and a long handled spoon if fruit is used. Variations:

Chocolate: Use chocolate-flavored syrup, chocolate ice cream and chocolate soda or club soda.

Strawberry: Use strawberry topping or sweetened crushed strawberries, strawberry ice cream and strawberry soda or club soda.

Lime: Use freshly squeezed lime juice, lime sherbet and lemon-lime soda or ginger ale.

Pineapple: Use pineapple topping or canned crushed pineapple, pineapple sherbet and lemon-lime soda or club soda.

Cherry: Use cherry topping, cherry or cherry-vanilla ice cream, and cherry soda.

Raspberry: Use sweetened crushed raspberries, raspberry sherbet and club soda.
