Easy Apple Pie

Ingredients

Pastry for single pie crust
4 to 5 apples cooking pared, cored, and sliced to equal 4 cups
1 teaspoon lemon juice fresh (omit if using tart apples)
1 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon ground
1/2 cup flour plus 2 tablespoons
1/4 cup butter real

Directions:

Heat oven to 450° F. Sprinkle apples with lemon juice if desired. Place apples in crust sprinkle with a mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Using pastry blender, combine remaining 1/2 cup sugar and 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Using pastry blender, combine remaining 1/2 cup sugar, flour, and butter, blending until butter is size of large peas sprinkle on pie. Bake for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350° F and bake for 40 minutes.

Note: This recipe can easily be doubled for 2 pies.
