Almond Crunch Cereal

Ingredients

3 cups oats old fashioned
1 1/2 cups coconut unsweetened shredded
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup bran flake unprocessed
1 cup shelled sunflower seed
1/2 cup shelled pumpkin seed
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup safflower oil
1/2 cup water cold
1 cup almonds slivered, blanched
1/4 cup dried date chips
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup dried pineapple slivered

Directions:

Heat oven to 250° F. In a large bowl, combine oats, coconut, wheat germ, bran, and seeds. Combine honey and oil add to dry ingredients, stirring, until well-blended. Add cold water, a little at a time, until mixture is crumbly. Divide the mixture into 2 greased jelly roll pans. Spread the mixture evenly to the edges of the pans. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Add almonds and continue to bake 1 hour longer until cereal is crisp stir after 30 minutes. Allow to cool in oven. Add dates, raisins, and dried pinepple. Store in a cool, dry place in a tightly covered container.
