Paul’s Best Beer Bread

4 2/3 cups self-rising flour
4 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 (12-ounce) cans beer (1-2/3 cans for the dough, 1/3 can for the cook)
1 tablespoon butter, melted


Place flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl, add beer. Mix into dough. Pour dough into a greased 10” Dutch oven. Brush melted butter on top of dough. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, or until top is hard and brown.
