4 cups Tamale Dough
6 servings Black Bean Stew
24 green onions trimmed
2 limes juiced
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
2 cups

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Spread the dough evenly in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish and bake for 20 minutes. Pour off any excess liquid from the bean stew, pour the stew over the dough, and bake for 20 minutes.

While the tamale pie is baking, line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Put the green onions on the lined baking sheet and sprinkle with the lime juice and pepper.

Rotate the tamale pie and decrease the oven temperature to 300 degrees F. Put the green onions in the oven. Bake the tamale pie and the green onions for 10 minutes.
