Sour Cream Chocolate Cake

1 stick butter
1 cup boiling water
2 cups sugar
5 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 beaten eggs
1/2 pint sour cream
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups flour


Put butter in bowl and pour boiling water over it; let the butter melt or at least become more liquid. Add sugar and cocoa and mix. Add vanilla, eggs, and sour cream and mix. Add baking soda and flour and mix by hand or 2 minutes on medium with mixer. Pour into greased 9x13-inch baking pan and bake for 20–25 minutes at 350°.
