Steamed Asparagus with Tarragon and Lemon

Serves: 2

1 1/2 cups fresh asparagus spears washed, woody stem parts removed and cut on the diagonal into 1 inch slices
2 4 inch sprigs fresh tarragon leaves stripped from stems and coarsely chopped
1/8 cup lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon real salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper


1. Place asparagus slices in a steamer basket.
2. Sprinkle the tarragon over the asparagus.
3. Cover and steam for 8 to 19 minutes until tender crisp and still bright green.
4. Stir salt and pepper into lemon juice.
5. Serve asparagus and tarragon with lemon mixture drizzled over it.
