Broccoli Vermicelli

1 (12-ounce) package vermicelli
4 cups broccoli florets, cut bite size
2 tablespoons butter, sliced
12 slices bacon, cooked crisp, crumbled
3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided


Cook pasta in lightly salted boiling water according to package directions; drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water. Meanwhile, cook broccoli till tender-crisp. Combine hot broccoli and pasta; add butter, reserved pasta water, bacon, and Parmesan. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Toss well.
