Your #1 Elf Magic Feature Just Went Mobile!
Remember when we introduced Elf Magic in the Cook'n Desktop App?
One of the coolest things the Cook'n Elves learned to do was take those long, paragraph-style recipe directions and, with a click, turn them into clean, easy-to-follow numbered steps.
And apparently, we weren't the only ones who thought that was pretty cool.
When we asked Cook'n users which Cook'n 16 improvements excited them the most, turning paragraph directions into clean, numbered steps with Elf Magic came in at #1!
Yep. NUMBER ONE.
So we've got some pretty exciting news...
THE ELVES HAVE GONE MOBILE!
That's right! We've just added these same powerful Elf Magic Directions features to Cook'n for iPhone and iPad! And Android users can get in on the magic too!
And I think you're gonna LOVE having them right there in the kitchen with you.
Three Kinds of Magic. One Little Wand.
Open any recipe in Cook'n for iOS and look next to the Directions heading.
See that little magic wand?
Tap it and you'll find three options:
Convert to Numbered List
Got paragraph directions that are hard to follow while you're cooking? This option keeps your original wording but formats the directions into a clean, numbered list.
Rewrite as Numbered Steps
Want the Cook'n Elves to do a little more work? This option actually rewrites and clarifies your directions, fixes typos and grammar, and organizes everything into clear, easy-to-follow numbered steps.
Rewrite as Paragraph Directions
Prefer the traditional cookbook look? Let Elf Magic take your directions and turn them into a polished paragraph that's cleaner, clearer, and ready for your family cookbook.
Android Users, We've Got You Covered Too!
Good news! These Elf Magic features are available on Android too! Just open a recipe, tap the More Options icon in the upper-right corner, select Edit Recipe, and tap the magic wand next to the Directions label. You can also access these features from the More Options menu while editing a recipe. We're still putting the finishing touches on the magic wand shortcut in the Recipe Detail view for Android, but you can enjoy all three Elf Magic Directions features right now!
We introduced all three of these options in the Cook'n Desktop App, and they've become some of the most useful Elf Magic tools we've created.
Now they're right on your iPhone and iPad AND Android!
Watch This! 👀
I made a quick screen recording because this is one of those features that's a whole lot more fun to see than to explain.
You'll see me take an ordinary recipe, tap that little magic wand, and...
POOF!
The Cook'n Elves go to work.
What used to be a block of text becomes a clean set of instructions that's much easier to follow while you're actually cooking.
No copying.
No retyping.
No manually breaking everything into steps.
Just tap the wand and let the Elves handle it.
Your Recipes Just Got Easier to Cook From
This is the kind of Elf Magic I LOVE.
It's not some flashy trick that's fun once and then forgotten. It's Elf Intelligence doing something genuinely useful with recipes you already have.
You're standing in the kitchen. Your hands are messy. Something's sizzling on the stove. You glance down at your iPhone to figure out what comes next...
Would you rather hunt through a giant paragraph?
Or see:
1. Do this.
2. Now do this.
3. Next, do this.
THAT'S why Cook'n users picked this as their #1 favorite Cook'n 16 improvement.
And now, that same Elf Magic is right there on your iPhone and iPad AND Android!
Go Find That Magic Wand!
If you have Cook'n on your iPhone or iPad or Android device, open one of your recipes, scroll down to Directions, and tap that little magic wand.
Pick one of the three options and watch what happens.
Better yet, go find one of those old family recipes with directions that look like they were written by someone who was being charged by the paragraph. 😂
Then...
Tap the wand.
I think you'll understand pretty quickly why Cook'n users made this their #1 pick.
The Cook'n Elves have officially gone mobile!
Happy cooking!
