Lemony Garlic Bread

Serves: 5

1 stick butter
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
3 green onions tops, chopped
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon minced garlic
dash of Tabasco
1 loaf French bread, sliced lengthwise
grated Parmesan cheese
cayenne pepper (optional)


Melt butter in skillet and sauté all but the last 3 ingredients. When onions are soft, spoon mixture on both halves of bread. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on bread, then dust with cayenne pepper, if desired. Bake on cookie sheet at 350° until lightly browned. Wrap heated bread in tin foil to take along.
