Lentils And Rice

Ingredients

2 cups lentils
1 cup long grain brown rice
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon dry marjoram
salt and pepper
1 medium tomato, chopped

Directions:

In the morning soak the lentils in enough water to cover. Drain and pour them into a 12-inch Dutch oven with just enough water to cover them. Lightly salt, if desired, and simmer on the camp stove for 30-40 minutes. Add the rice, chopped onion, and seasonings and another cup of water and simmer for another 20 minutes or until the rice is done. Stir the tomatoes in before serving.
