Pizza Rolls

Ingredients

1 pound bulk Italian sausage crumbled
1 (4-ounce) package sharp cheddar cheese shredded (about 1 cup)
1 (4-ounce) package mozzarella cheese shredded (about 1 cup)
1/8 teaspoon oregano ground
dash garlic powder
dash salt
dash black pepper
2/3 cup mayonnaise
6 crusty rolls about 4-inch diameter

Directions:

In a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, brown sausage. Drain off fat. Cool meat.

In a medium bowl, stir sausage, cheeses, oregano, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Stir in mayonnaise until mixture is well moistened and holds together. Add more mayonnaise if needed. If making ahead, cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

To serve, preheat broiler. Cut rolls in half. Spread about 1/4 cup of the mixture on each half. Place open faced on a baking sheet.

Broil 6 inches from heat source for 2 minutes or until bubbly.

To Microwave: Place one open-faced sandwich at a time on a paper towel-lined microwavable plate. Microwave, uncovered, at 100% power for 45 seconds or until cheese melts.
