Lasagna

Ingredients

Sauce:
10 ounces lasagna noodles, cooked, drained
1/2 pound bulk sausage
1 1/2 pounds lean ground meat
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon whole basil
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 cups tomatoes
2 (6-ounce) cans tomato paste
2 (6-ounce) cans water
1 pound pepperoni sausage, sliced (optional)

Cheese Filling:
3 cups Ricotta or creamy cottage cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
2 tablespoons parsley flakes
2 eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 pound grated mozzarella cheese

Directions:

Mix sausage, ground meat, garlic, basil, salt, tomatoes, tomato paste, and water.

Mix ingredients together, except mozzarella. Spoon a few tablespoons of Sauce on bottom of dish, then a layer of noodles. Spread a layer of Cheese Filling, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, then top with Sauce. Repeat layers. Bake in 375° oven for 30 minutes. Let stand a few minutes before cutting into squares.
