Overnight Faux Lasagna

Ingredients

1 (16-ounce) package wide egg noodle
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup cottage cheese with chives
1/2 cup sour cream
1 pound ground beef
1/3 cup dried, minced onion
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Cook half the package of noodles in boiling water for 5 to 6 minutes; drain and reserve remaining uncooked noodles for another recipe. Arrange half the cooked noodles in a greased 2-quart casserole dish. Spread noodles evenly with melted butter. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, cottage cheese and sour cream. Spoon mixture over noodles. Arrange remaining cooked noodles over cream cheese mixture; set aside. In a skillet, brown ground beef and onions; drain well. Combine beef mixture with tomato sauce, salt and pepper to taste; spoon over noodles. Cover and refrigerate for one to 8 hours. Uncover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.


Keep some oven roasting bags on hand for baking holiday ham, chicken or turkey. The bags will speed up the cooking time, plus there’s no roaster to clean up...just toss the bag!
