Ingredients

1 loaf French bread, sliced 1/8-inch thick
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried sage
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Place bread slices in a large bowl; set aside. Mix remaining ingredients in a small bowl. Pour over bread, tossing well to coat. Arrange bread on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until crisp and golden. May be stored up to 2 weeks in an airtight container.

Empty jam jars filled with old-fashioned sweets like hard candies and gumdrops make thoughtful gifts. Cover the lid of each jar with a piece of fabric cut with pinking shears and tied on with a pretty ribbon.
