Pan Fried Apples, 1919

Ingredients

3 or 4 large, tart apples, cored and sliced
2 tablespoons bacon drippings or butter
1/3 cup wild honey or brown sugar
salt and cinnamon

Directions:

Heat apple slices in hot bacon drippings in skillet until they soften, stirring to turn over. Add honey or brown sugar and a little salt and cinnamon, if available. If not, honey or sugar will glaze the slices if allowed to remain on the fire, covered, 5–10 minutes, depending on heat.
