Mexican Potato Soup

Ingredients

3 slices bacon, diced
3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
5 cups water
1 cup tomato sauce
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 (10-ounce) can green chili, chopped
1/2 pound sharp cheese, grated

Directions:

Brown bacon. Add potatoes and stir to coat. Add water, tomato sauce, onion, and salt. Reduce heat to simmer and cook 1 hour. Place chiles and cheese in bowls. Spoon hot soup over chiles and cheese to serve.
