Peanut Brittle for the Elves
Every once in a while, we receive a message that reminds us why we do what we do.
Over the past couple of weeks, Hilary (a.k.a. DeliBaker) was working through a pretty epic situation. After making large updates to her 200,000+ recipe database — including merging duplicate units — her Cook’n sync went sideways. Missing images. Toolbar icons disappearing. Strange little red squares next to cookbooks. Popups asking to recover deleted accounts. The full gremlin experience.
She worked closely with Brennah in support, troubleshooting step by step. They deleted and refreshed her cloud account more than once. Eventually they discovered an icons folder corruption, restored it from a system backup, and after one final clean refresh… everything synced perfectly.
When the dust settled, Hilary sent this:
“I want you to know how grateful I'm for the patience, professionalism, and support that Brennah extended to me over the last 2 weeks. She is an absolute gem and deserves to be rewarded!
So, with your permission, I'd like to send some peanut brittle to these wonderful elves.”
First of all… managing 200,000 recipes is legendary. The fact that she was merging duplicate units tells me she is running Cook’n at a level most people cannot even imagine.
Second, what Hilary may not have known is that Brennah is my daughter. She has a Computer Science degree from BYU and spent eight years working as a professional software engineer. She recently got married and is expecting her first baby next month, so she wanted something flexible where she could still stay involved in tech without working full time.
We feel incredibly blessed she chose to help us with support.
And yes… the peanut brittle is officially on its way.
“The Amazon order is on its way and scheduled for Tuesday between 8am–5pm.”
The elves have cleared their calendars. Productivity may dip slightly.
On a more serious note, this meant more to us than you might imagine. It is one thing to say thank you. It is another thing entirely to take action.
Hilary, thank you for your patience through the missing icons, mysterious red squares, and what we are now officially calling The Great Cloud Refresh Saga of 2026.
Users like you are the reason Cook’n is still going strong after all these years.
And to the rest of you… if you ever run into gremlins, red squares, or sync shenanigans, just know we are here for you.
