DoveTailing Tips

When preparing the Asparagus and Peas, cook a pound of bacon and set aside 1/3 of the crumbles, and 2 cups of peas for Meal 2, Peas and Pasta Salad. Use the other 1/3 in Meal 4, BLT Salad.

If you have time, go ahead and prepare the salad for tomorrow without the bacon. The flavors will meld overnight and it will be so much better. Add bacon just before serving to keep it crisp.

Plan for 2 cups of extra ham. Cube it and save for Meal 4, Ham a la King.

Plan to cook extra chicken to have 3 cups of leftovers from today’s meal to use for Meal 3, Chicken Enchilada Rice Casserole.

Use leftover biscuits to make the Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuits for Meal 3.

Use the leftover chicken from Meal 1 in the enchilada casserole for today’s meal. Make the Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuits from the leftover biscuits from Meal 2.

Use the leftover, cubed ham from Meal 1 in the Ham a la King.

Use the bacon crumbles in the BLT Salad you cooked from Meal 1.
