1 onion large cut in half lengthwise and thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper medium cut in half lengthwise and thinly sliced
1 pound hot dogs plump (8 per lb.)
8 hot dog buns
1/4 cup creamy italian dressing
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Preheat oven to 400°.
Place water, onion and green pepper in a 10-inch non-stick skillet. Cover and cook over high heat for 7 minutes. Add frankfurters. Cover and cook for 3 minutes or until vegetables are limp, adding additional water as needed to prevent burning.
Place each frankfurter in a bun. Top with about 1/2 tablespoon salad dressing. Sprinkle vegetables with salt and pepper; spoon over dressing. Wrap each bun separately in foil.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until heated through.
Serve with potato chips, tomato soup and sherbet.
