If you aren't accustomed to eating whole-grain breads, fruits, and raw vegetables, go with part whole-grains such as cracked-wheat breads and rolls, and eat steamed or canned vegetables and fruits. Adding too much fiber too quickly places fat-storing stress on your body. It may take you a year or more to tolerate lots of raw veggies, raw fruits, and 100 percent whole grains. Some individuals may always need to be moderate with these very complex foods.
