Put rinsed rice in a 3-quart casserole dish. Add scalded and rinsed raisins and salt.
Pour boiling water over rice and raisins; add butter and mix well together. Cover with lid.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 90 minutes.
Do not open lid while baking.
Mix well together in casserole dish before serving.
