Tastes Just Like Outback!

By Sydney Hill

Here is part 2 of our restaurant series. A series of recipes that taste like the place that sells it. People pay money for these, they're so good! Let me preface again that I did not steal these. I actually got this one from my sister who did not steal it either. I'll vouch for her.

Today's special is a little number called Alice Springs Chicken (copycat) from Outback steakhouse. A set of yummy ingredients for one yummy meal!

Alice Springs Chicken (copycat)

Serving size: 5
Calories per serving: 304

Ingredients:
4 to 6 chicken breasts
1 cup mustard
1 cup honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil
12 slices cooked bacon
1/4 cup mushrooms, sliced
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 to 3 cups shredded cheese
parsley (as much as desired)

Directions:
Mix honey, mustard, oil, and lemon juice with a beater. Put 1/2 in a bag with chicken and let marinade for 2 hours (at least); put other 1/2 in fridge to use as dip later. Heat chicken in skillet, when almost done, put in an oven-safe pan and sprinkle with seasonings. Place 2-3 slices of bacon on each breast and sprinkle with mushrooms. Put lots of cheese (1/2 cup per breast) on chicken and sprinkle with parsley. Cook at 375 degrees until cheese is melted and bubbly.
