Best of the Best from Texas

Best of the Best from Texas Pride is a treasury of classic family recipes compiled by the AT&T Pioneers of North Texas. The most popular recipes from these four classic cookbooks have been selected, tested, edited for clarity, and collected into one book. This cookbook also contains interesting facts and illustrations showing the evolution of the telephone over the years.

Quail Ridge Press was honored to be able to participate in the development and publication of the Best of the Best from Texas Pride Cookbook.

The down-home, family-favorites in the North Texas Pioneers cookbooks are exactly the kind of recipes we seek to preserve--recipes that have been developed and perfected over generations; recipes that are legendary within a family and are now being shared with other families.

Each Pioneer cookbook has been reprinted many times. The cookbooks continue to be popular with young cooks as well as longtime cooks.

The AT&T Pioneers of North Texas, the organization of employees, retirees, and families of the telecommunications industry in Texas, are the force that have made the Texas Pride cookbooks the success they are. The Pioneers are all volunteers who have given their time and energy to a variety of projects and activities that enrich our community.

When Southwestern Bell's acquisition of AT&T became official on November 18, 2005, it combined two outstanding telecommunications organizations that promised a new era of communications and entertainment for millions of people around the globe. This union not only merged our two businesses, it also merged our great volunteer organizations--the AT&T Pioneers.

You will find some fantastic recipes with this merging of several cookbooks from Pioneers throughout north Texas with the creation of the Best of the Best from Texas Pride Cookbook: Selected Recipes from the Classic North Texas AT&T Pioneer Cookbooks.

Customers have praised the recipes found in all of the cookbooks. In fact, people have enjoyed the meals prepared using these cookbooks so much the requests for a book that combines the "Best of the Best" recipes has been a constant refrain from many of these cooks. Especially since all original cookbooks are out of print, this book brings the best of them back by popular demand. Now Pioneers from across the state of Texas have submitted their selections of time-tested and proven recipes from previous books. In addition, numerous new recipes have been submitted for review and consideration. These selections were compiled, sorted, and edited, and now grace the pages of this cookbook as a collection of the best recipes.

This compilation is possible due to the countless hours of work by many active and retired Pioneers over the years. We dedicate this cookbook to the thousands of volunteers who make up the AT&T Family and have shared their recipes. We hope that you enjoy them as much as our members have.
