Bran Crescent Rolls

Ingredients

2 tablespoons yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1 cup shortening
1 cup boiling water
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup whole bran cereal
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 eggs, beaten
6 cups flour
1/4 cup melted butter

Directions:

Sprinkle yeast into warm water and let sit for 5 minutes. Combine shortening, boiling water, sugar, bran cereal and salt. Stir in eggs. Add 3 cups flour and mix well. Stir in yeast and beat until smooth. Add remaining flour and stir until smooth. On a floured surface, roll dough into 10-inch wide rectangle 1/2-inch thick. Brush with butter. With a pizza cutter, cut dough in half lengthwise. Starting at one end cut in a zigzag pattern forming triangles. Repeat with other half of dough. Roll up, starting at wide end. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Let rise for 1 hour. Bake at 350° F for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
