Walnut Clusters

Ingredients

1/2 cup sifted all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup soft butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 squares semi-sweet baking chocolate
2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts

Directions:

Start heating the oven to 350°F. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together and reserve. Mix the butter and sugar together until creamy. Add egg and vanilla and mix well. Melt chocolate on top of double boiler and stir into mixture. Add flour mixture and fold in the nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheets, 1 inch apart. Bake in 350°F oven for 10 minutes. Cool if desired. A bit of melted chocolate may be spread on the top of each.
